CAMEROON MISSION WORK:

The ultimate goal of this mission is to help develop strong congregations in Cameroon that are fully capable of supporting their own work in the future. This is a goal that will not be realized quickly and your partnership is of immense importance to achieve this goal.

Cameroon is a country of about 20 million inhabitants with approximately 150 congregations of the Lord’s Church, ranging from 7 members to 120 members in attendance respectively. This membership is in diverse ages: elderly, teens and all ages in between. Our mission is that of Evangelizing, Edifying and equipping the saints in the country of Cameroon. We need many co-workers for this to be done.

                                       OUR MISSION GOAL IN CAMEROON:

Planting and developing of indigenous Churches.

To support national church planting and development, that will support the Cameroon Institute of Biblical Studies (CIBS) in future.

To train Christians to a state of maturity in Christ, so as to serve the Lord well in their respective congregations.

To train and motivate faithful men and women to teach others.

To encourage our students upon graduation to go and serve existing churches in Cameroon.

To inculcate the fear of God into the lives of all young and old so that they may grow to love, fear and respect Him. With this foundation, these young boys and girls will in turn grow in faith and serve their respective congregations anywhere they may go.

The CIBS is to take leadership of this work as it will produce the human resources and know how that is needed to accomplish the goal.

Prince Otobong (o̅ˊ- to̅ - bŏng)  Ituen (ēˊ - twin):

Prince was born in Ikot Usen town, Akwa Ibom state, Nigeria.  Ikot Usen is the location of the first Church of Christ in Nigeria, established after WW II.

He received his Bible training at the school of preaching, Nigerian Christian Institute in Uyo, Nigeria, where he obtained his Diploma in ministerial studies and diploma in Mass communication.

While at NCI he met a pretty co-ed named Margaret Ohiani, who was getting her ministerial diploma, and they shared the dream of serving as missionaries.

After graduation in 1998 he was employed at NCI as the personal assistant on Public Relations activities to the president of the institution.

While in that position Roger and Andrea, who were working at Nigerian Christian Bible College in Nigeria at the time, met and learned to appreciate Prince for his work and his dedication to the Lord.

In 2003 Prince left his home and family and went to preach for the Sonac Street Church of Christ in Bamenda, NW Region Cameroon.

In 2005 he returned home to collect the love of his life, and bring her with him to Cameroon.

They have four children; two boys, Gershom, Gene Jr; and twin girls, Mercy and Mary
.

With Prince’s background at NCI, and having seen the impact Christian Education had on Nigeria, he understood the need for good preaching schools in Cameroon.

Bro Prince, now the Director of the Cameroon Institute of Biblical Studies, is seeking for your support for the school and those with passion for soul winning for partnership.

Beloved in Christ and friends,

I bring you greetings from Bamenda. Thanks a million for your prayers
and partnership during the just concluded 1st graduation and prize
giving ceremony of the Cameroon Institute of Biblical Studies, Batibo,
North West Region, Cameroon. We graduated 9 students and gave a
lifetime legacy award to 8 brethren in recognition of their
contributions to the propagation of the gospel of Christ and promotion
of Christian Education in Cameroon and their partnership with the CIBS
for the training of able spokesmen for the Master.

This event which kicked off with lineup activities such as New Life
Behavior seminar on the 2nd through 4th of June, a two days scholastic
Bible lectureship on the books of 1st and 2nd Timothy on the 5th to
6th June and the CIBS 1st batch of students graduation on the 7th June
2014 respectively, witnessed a huge success to the glory of God.

Participants from within Cameroon and abroad were in attendance. Once
again, thank you for your unflinching support, prayers and partnership
as we continue to strive ahead in this ministry of seeking and winning
souls for Christ. God bless you in your endeavor.

In our record' within the three years of CIBS existence, 296 souls were baptized and 78 restored to the body of Christ in their respective locations. To God be the glory.

 Your brother and friend,

Prince O. Ituen
CIBS Director,
P.O. Box 73, Batibo,

Cameroon mission news from Prince Ituen

Fellow servants in Christ Jesus,
It gives me joy communicating with you through this medium and prays
that this meets you in good health and faith in Christ name. The work
load I am facing at the Cameroon Institute of Biblical Studies and in
the filed since I returned to Cameroon early this year with my family
after our brief holidays in Nigeria is so demanding and our days are
always active and interesting, sometimes I do not have enough time for
myself nor extra time to develop this mission news therefore, accept
my apologies for sending you this update late. Our trip to Nigeria was
a blessed one, we met our family members both in Akwa Ibom State and
my wife’s place in Kogi State respectively in good health. I equally
was opportune to share God’s words with His chosen ones at the Lord’s
church in Abuja, 149 Ikot Ekpene Road, NCI Campus church and equally
fellowship with few other congregation before we left Nigeria.  The
gesture of hospitality shown to us while with them is a testimony of
their love for God and His service on earth.
We as before are doing our very best to reach the lost with the
gospel of Christ in Cameroon. Our focus at the CIBS is on training of
trainers. The students are now in their third year (final) and much
effort   has been put in place to enable them become better servant leaders in the church upon their graduation from the CIBS.
As a vocational Institute of Biblical Studies, we exposed students to certain skills that is of advantage while in school and upon their graduation from school. Just of recent, we have introduced Mushroom production as a part of Agricultural training on campus. In our school curriculum this semester, we limited our scope to 10 compulsory Biblical courses, 4 Basic studies and two vocational courses.  Seven dedicated staff members are helping the CIBS to foster ahead with no fix regular month ends allowances.  I regret to mention here that another staff member, an instructor in Church music tendered his resignation in the beginning of this semester and after due consideration, a new instructor took over from him and we are moving ahead.
The CIBS students and staff from February till date have not engaged as a school on campaign for Christ this semester due to financial constraint. In fact, in the past we used to set aside one full week for this mission and all staff members and students fully involved. We suppose to be sending out our students on once a month evangelistic outreach programs, but for the past months that has not been done this year because of financial challenges. We are still praying for more partners in this God’s business.
Radio Evangelistic program: The proclamation of the gospel truth via electronic media in Bamenda is gaining more ground. Most people have come to know the truth by listening to this BACK TO THE BIBLE 30minutes presentation every Saturday morning from 6.30am to 7.00am.
Among our keen listeners, two have been baptized this year and more are getting to know the Church of Christ and are engaging in more Bible discussion with us. I will not hesitate to thank you all for your support and prayers especially the efforts of the leadership of the South Side Church of Christ for standing by me all these while.
Christian Gathering: Aside from the just concluded youth forum that took place in the South West Region of Cameroon with more than 300 participants in attendance, brethren in Cameroon have been engaging in other educational and spirit lifting programs nearly on monthly and quarterly basis respectively.  In January 2013, my wife was engaged seriously on the annual Christian women Lectureship which took place at Modika in the Littoral Region. In the month of February 2013, we hosted at Bamenda, North West Region, the North West Quarterly Women Bible seminar in the Sonac street worship hall for 3 days.
Considering the importance of prayer, Christians sisters are working on annual women prayer seminar to kick start on the 11th to 13th of April 2013 in Buea, South West Region.  Equally, in the month of May 2013 there are plans for the annual preacher’s wives seminar in Limbe and annual Preachers / leadership forum in Buea, Cameroon. All these programs are geared on keeping Christians busy in the Lord and to prepare Christians for the work of service in the kingdom of God.
A total of 13 souls were baptized into Christ and 1 soul restored to the faith during the just concluded youth forum, praises goes to God as we pray for their faithfulness.
Our mission efforts have yielded much fruits to the glory of God.

We have witnessed more than 20 precious souls getting baptized in the first quarter of this year. More souls have been touched and edified.
We continue to covet your prayers and any financial assistance for Brother Evans who is going through cancer pains and for mission efforts in Cameroon. Much of our programs involves finances and a times, we are at a cross road. We pray for funds to keep the programs of the CIBS and to assist our staff and students with monthly allowances.
My family and I remain eternally appreciative for all your prayers, love and concern you have shown to us despite hard times on your side.
 We are saying thank you.

His mission our passion,

Prince O. Ituen
